TREAT: (Very) Rich Chocolate Truffle Silk Pie

This pie is VERY rich, so I definitely recommend eating it in small slices, with some whipped cream and berries and some red wine (or milk!)

Ingredients:

  • 12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup sifted powdered sugar
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 (9 inch) prepared cookie crumb crust

Directions:

  • In a microwave dish, combine chocolate chips and 1/2 of the cream.  Cook on high for 1-2 minutes and stir constantly (at least every 30 seconds) until smooth.
  • Cool to room temperature.

  • Stir in sugar and vanilla and set aside

  • In a small bowl, beat the rest of the cream until soft peaks form.
  • Beat in the chocolate mixture on high speed 1/3 at a time.  Mix well and spoon into the crust.
  • Refrigerate before serving (ideally over 8 hours)

TREAT: Breadstick/Garlic Bread Tomato Dip

A lot of people in my family are obsessed with sauces to use for dipping, and I made this sauce for dipping garlic bread in:

Ingredients:
  • 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
  • 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp white sugar
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/2 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp minced fresh parsley
Directions:
  • Super easy - just mix it all together!

  •  And eat it with some garlic bread!
